Fighting through cancer…
I’ve had a unique situation while working with Kerry Overfelt. Before receiving my Stage 4 Cancer diagnosis, I had worked with Kerry for about 6 months. I saw amazing gains in weight loss, strength gained, and a direct improvement in my abilities in the Highland Games. During this training, Kerry’s years of excellence on the field and gym were poured into me. But, the most impact of his training techniques, his character, and his passion was shown after my diagnosis and subsequent recovery. Kerry continued to encourage me, structure workouts based on what I could do, and help me keep going. I lost almost all of my strength. Any other coach would have simply told me to come back when I was recovered, and we would start over. Kerry didn’t do this. He changed workouts to what I was able to do. He checked in with me and encouraged me during one of the roughest phases of my life. That’s not a coach. That’s a brother. Now I am Cancer free. We have set big goals together as I come back. If you want a high-profile name or an Instagram face as a coach that doesn’t know who you are or care for anything more than your money, don’t contact Kerry. Give Kerry a call if you want someone who cares and will lock arms with you as you fight. I’m proud to be a Darkside Athlete, and I’m honored to have Kerry in this fight with me. – Chris C.
From Around the World…
We are now 3 years later, and let me say something. Your workouts are heavy and brutal, which I love, you also adjust them to personal needs and what sport you do. And We often have contact via messenger, and I am happy about that. But beyond this, let me give some statistics. My body weight has gone from 156 kilos to 108 kilos, and make no mistake, my strength has remained the same. And since I got my cancer, I get even more support from my coach. So thank you for all the hard training and the support you give. Will continue to recommend you to everyone. – Greetings, Bert, from Belgium
From a Highland Games Athlete…
I started in the Highland games in 2019 after doing CrossFit for 4 years. I wanted a more Highland games-oriented training and participated in a clinic where KO was a coach. The first time I met him, I knew this guy was it. It took months for me to work up the nerve to reach out and ask, but once I did, he walked me through his individualized process and assured me each workout was tailored to me and not a cookie-cutter program. He wasn’t lying! No matter what injury, schedule change, or life situation, Kerry navigated through it with me and programmed things appropriate to where I was. I’ve seen such growth as an athlete, a Highland games competitor, and a human being in general while training with him. He pours his years of experience in many different modalities into the programming he writes and, as a result, produces well-rounded competitors. He gives his best, and he expects the best from his athletes. My first-meeting intuition was right…this guy is all I hoped for and more as a coach!
Commit to 12 weeks…
I’ve been a Darkside online client for a little over 18 months. KO will work with you to develop your goals & provide truly customized nutrition and exercise programming to reach them. He’s a real expert; very responsive to questions; and knows when to give you a pep talk and when to give you a kick in the tail. I’d encourage anybody to commit to 12 weeks with him. And by “commit,” I mean to be very honest with him and to do the work. If you do that, you’ll get results & you’ll be a client for years!
